The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Redford AFC's Carrigan McVictor shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 4th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Donavan O'Down but with some difficulty. Donavan O'Down came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Redford AFC's Dermot Ghee. But to his dismay, Dermot Ghee quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Byrne Callaghan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. Clifferna Utd's Donavan O'Down proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Clifferna Utd from getting a goal against them. When Riddoc Savic came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Clifferna Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Riddoc Savic couldn't finish the play. In the 20th match minute, Clifferna Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Riddoc Savic to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Byrne Callaghan in the 21st minute of play forced Clifferna Utd's goalkeeper Donavan O'Down to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dermot Ghee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tory McDonald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dermod Murphy in the 26th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Finian Murphy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dermot Ghee struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Donavan O'Down didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Redford AFC. Donavan O'Down tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Redford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ainnle MaCollin came free, but Tory McDonald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clifferna Utd's goalkeeper Donavan O'Down, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Caoilte Beckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clifferna Utd's Donavan O'Down proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Clifferna Utd from getting a goal against them. 2-0 became the score in the 43rd minute when Caoilte Beckett elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Dermot Ghee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donavan O'Down having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dermot Ghee stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Byrne Callaghan struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Donavan O'Down didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Redford AFC. Clifferna Utd's Donavan O'Down played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Byrne Callaghan in the 82nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Finian Murphy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Redford AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Finian Murphy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donavan O'Down breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caoilte Beckett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donavan O'Down having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Dermot Ghee made a precise shot to the right of Donavan O'Down. Clifferna Utd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0.
