Spectators: 6835 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1835, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bohannon Doherty took the kick off in the first half of the match. Cloonlavis's Bragan Rogers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bohannon Doherty in the 4th minute of play. If Begley Dempsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Cloonlavis's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Sanches came free, but Bragan Rogers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Cloonlavis getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Begley Dempsey hit a great ball. Bevin Lester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Bragan Rogers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cloonlavis's Aengus Hamilton got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Bohannon Doherty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, IK Frej's Bohannon Doherty sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bragan Rogers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bohannon Doherty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Bragan Rogers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 39 played minutes IK Frej got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Sanches. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bohannon Doherty in the 41st minute of play forced Cloonlavis's goalkeeper Bragan Rogers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Begley Dempsey to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Cloonlavis's Aengus Hamilton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cullan McSteven made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Bevin Lester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bragan Rogers having to interfere. Bragan Rogers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bevin Lester, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute of the match IK Frej got a corner. Cloonlavis's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Geary McNamee ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the Cloonlavis defense, Bohannon Doherty kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bragan Rogers. The Cloonlavis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bragan Rogers should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the IK Frej players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
