The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Bohs's zone, Binean Walker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kerrigan McWilliam came out of the goal and Binean Walker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bartel McJames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfred McLaughlin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartel McJames, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The supporters of Bohs booed when Inter DC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Duggan didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Bohs getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Beollan Gillmour hit a great ball. Binean Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Binean Walker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfred McLaughlin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartel McJames in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bohs's goalkeeper Kerrigan McWilliam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Boynton Dunne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kerrigan McWilliam. Bohs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Boynton Dunne was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Kerrigan McWilliam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Binean Walker, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Baran Gollogley was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the game, one of Inter DC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

John Duggan's late challenge caught a Bohs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Duggan helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Inter DC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. John Duggan hit a great ball. With a little luck, Inter DC's Alfred McLaughlin got control of the ball when Blathmac Holt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Inter DC's goal looked a bit too open when Blathmac McNamara came free, but Alfred McLaughlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Blathmac McNamara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
