In the 17th match minute, Maradona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Cruz to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Millioners's goalkeeper Breccan Brennan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thom McLaughlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Breccan Brennan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Donn McPhilip came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Maradona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donn McPhilip couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braeden Gillmour in the 32nd minute of play forced Maradona's goalkeeper Bradner Scully to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute Braeden Gillmour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bradner Scully saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breccan Brennan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brak McJohnny, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Millioners's zone, Brak McJohnny stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breccan Brennan came out of the goal and Brak McJohnny tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Braeden Gillmour stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brak McJohnny recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Blian McTommy's late challenge caught a Maradona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blian McTommy helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Maradona booed when FC Millioners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blian McTommy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Breccan Brennan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Heron Hamilton. Art McBrand hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Maradona's attentive Donn McPhilip managed to snatch the ball when Rordan McGlynn made a throw-in in the 60th minute of the game. Thom McLaughlin hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Breccan Brennan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brak McJohnny went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Braeden Gillmour managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Millioners's supporters rose to their feet, but Braeden Gillmour was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bradner Scully breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Breccan Brennan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donn McPhilip, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, FC Millioners's Breccan Brennan got control of the ball when Brak McJohnny tried to sneak it across the goal line. Júlio Cruz was shown his second yellow card after 80 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 81st minute, Júlio Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute, Hewney Mulvihill left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Millioners fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The supporters of Maradona booed when FC Millioners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blian McTommy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thom McLaughlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breccan Brennan having to interfere. When the match was over Maradona could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Millioners throughout the match.
