The audience was convinced that Troy Morrison's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brann Ferguson was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Troy Morrison struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Brann Ferguson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Victoria Crossers. Don McNamara hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Brann Ferguson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Troy Morrison, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Brann Ferguson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brasil Caffey went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 21st match minute, Fethard was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brannon McTom to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Irving McGlynn in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Birr Robinson saved Victoria Crossers from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brasil Caffey in the 27th minute of play forced Fethard's goalkeeper Brann Ferguson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brann Ferguson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brasil Caffey, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Troy Morrison in the 31st minute of play forced Fethard's goalkeeper Brann Ferguson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes, Theobald Walker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fethard and the Victoria Crossers players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th match minute, Fethard was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theobald Walker to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Peter McIan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Irving McGlynn received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Birr Robinson came out and tried to block the shot, but Irving McGlynn slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Birr Robinson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brannon McTom in the 56th minute of the match. Brasil Caffey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irving McGlynn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Birr Robinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birr Robinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter McIan, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 77th minute, Irving McGlynn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fethard fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Fethard's zone, Brasil Caffey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brann Ferguson came out of the goal and Brasil Caffey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Theobald Walker was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 83 minutes had been played. A collision led to Fethard getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Theobald Walker hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Victoria Crossers players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fethard.
