Smithfield FC's Shiel McTommy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Smithfield FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Cregganbaun booed when Smithfield FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Rogers didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Smithfield FC's zone, Aengus Moran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shiel McTommy came out of the goal and Aengus Moran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aengus Moran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bevin Perth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aengus Moran got free with Shiel McTommy in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Oliver Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Aengus Moran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bevin Perth to strike the kick off in the second half. Cassidy McGlenn kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 58th minute Bevin Perth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rylee Dalton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Kelly in the 60th minute of play forced Smithfield FC's goalkeeper Shiel McTommy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denny Gallagher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bren Myler's late challenge caught a Smithfield FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bren Myler helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute, Bren Myler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shiel McTommy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aengus Moran in the 71st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aengus Moran in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shiel McTommy saved Smithfield FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Oliver Kelly's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Shiel McTommy was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 84th minute Oliver Kelly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shiel McTommy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Oliver Kelly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cregganbaun's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliver Kelly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shiel McTommy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd minute, Smithfield FC's Tathan McOliver seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tathan McOliver the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Smithfield FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tathan McOliver had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Smithfield FC! There was no doubt that Cregganbaun were the better team. Cregganbaun's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
