Ryland Taylor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Braonain Robinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Beothach McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Beckett Coyle got free with Gavin Frankson in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Cappanagh Utd's Beothach McJohn slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gavin Frankson. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. Braonain Robinson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ryland Taylor's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. When Maryfield's Ryland Taylor in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cappanagh Utd's goalie prevented a goal. Baird Hutton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Braonain Robinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Finn Barrett, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute.

The wind increased when Baird Hutton made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Cappanagh Utd's Beckett Coyle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gavin Frankson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Braonain Robinson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baird Hutton's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Baird Hutton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Braonain Robinson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Colwell during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 65 played minutes Maryfield got a freekick which was hit by David Colwell. 2-0 became the score in the 66th minute when Beothach McJohn elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Finn Barrett fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maryfield's protests and gave Finn Barrett a yellow card for diving instead. After 70 played minutes Maryfield got a freekick which was hit by Finn Barrett. Hayes Harkin's late challenge caught a Cappanagh Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hayes Harkin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, one of Maryfield:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Maryfield. The referee gave Cappanagh Utd a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Brian Beckett, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Maryfield's Gavin Frankson. 3-0. Gavin Frankson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beckett Coyle in the 77th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Beckett Coyle put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gavin Frankson. Gavin Frankson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beothach McJohn, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. During the 85th minute of the match David Colwell completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave David Colwell a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. David Colwell hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Cappanagh Utd's Beckett Coyle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gavin Frankson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gavin Frankson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beckett Coyle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gavin Frankson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Byrne Molloy in the 95th minute of play. Maryfield's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
