An unexpectedly hard shot by Brenan Myler in the 3rd minute of play forced Rathmolyon Utd's goalkeeper Kevinn McCollion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Alfred McDecland put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Kevinn McCollion. Alfred McDeclands short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Kevinn McCollion to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kevinn McCollion made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Alfred McDecland sent off a good shot on target. Alfred McDecland received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kevinn McCollion came out and tried to block the shot, but Alfred McDecland slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 13th minute. Brenan Myler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rathmolyon Utd's Kevinn McCollion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Rathmolyon Utd from getting a goal against them. Brenan Myler received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kevinn McCollion came out and tried to block the shot, but Brenan Myler slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 25th minute. In the 29th match minute, Curhownagh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renny Tierney to maneuver through the defense. Kevinn McCollion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brenan Myler in the 31st minute of play. After 33 played minutes Rathmolyon Utd got a freekick which was hit by Justin Rutherford. With his leg Kevinn McCollion managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Curhownagh's Alfred McDecland fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rathmolyon Utd's Kevinn McCollion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brenan Myler in the 40th minute of play. Brenan Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevinn McCollion having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emmet McWilliam made a kick off. Alfred McDecland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevinn McCollion having to interfere. If Blathma McSteve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Berach Morrison successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfred McDecland in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kevinn McCollion prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Rathmolyon Utd's zone, Brenan Myler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevinn McCollion came out of the goal and Brenan Myler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alfred McDecland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Alfred McDecland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kevinn McCollion. Rathmolyon Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfred McDecland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 73rd minute, Donald McAlphie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Emmet McWilliam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kevinn McCollion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blathma McSteve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 minutes, Leonard Hamilton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rathmolyon Utd and the Curhownagh players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Curhownagh booed when Rathmolyon Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Hamilton didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Alfred McDecland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kevinn McCollion was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Brenan Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevinn McCollion having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Curhownagh had played much better football throughout.
