The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Brenan Myler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Casey McJohn was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Alfred McDecland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casey McJohn having to interfere. In the 16th minute Curhownagh were awarded a corner. Rowen Branson went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Curhownagh's Blathma McSteve to fire away a dangerous shot which Casey McJohn despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Rowen Branson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brenan Myler scored 0-3 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Casey McJohn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Drink Team's Casey McJohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred McDecland in the 33rd minute of play. Curhownagh were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Drink Team's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rowen Branson took the corner. Rowen Branson made a great header on Curhownagh's corner, it was just that Drink Team's Casey McJohn managed to reach the ball for a save. 44 minutes into the match, Curhownagh's Rowen Branson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casey McJohn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Brenan Myler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Curhownagh were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The Curhownagh fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Curhownagh's Alfred McDecland looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Felim Tracy hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Rowen Branson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curhownagh's supporters rose to their feet, but Rowen Branson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casey McJohn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute Brenan Myler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casey McJohn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 58 in the game by Alfred McDecland from a close distance when the talented Casey McJohn managed to make a qualified save. Drink Team's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Drink Team's Bodibeua Caffrey got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60thth minute of the game Brenan Myler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Drink Team's Casey McJohn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Casey McJohn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brenan Myler in the 65th minute of play. After some careless play in the Drink Team defense, Blathma McSteve kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casey McJohn. The Drink Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casey McJohn should have stopped the shot. Casey McJohn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfred McDecland in the 71st minute. Alfred McDecland who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Casey McJohn when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 74 minutes into the game, Curhownagh's Alfred McDecland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Casey McJohn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. Alfred McDecland had several of the Drink Team's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 80 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-9 score and a disappointed Casey McJohn as he didn't even see the shot coming. Alfred McDecland in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Casey McJohn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 84th minute, Drink Team's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alfred McDecland fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Blathma McSteve took a quick shot and it went in 0-10 without a chance for Casey McJohn to make any attempt to save it. Casey McJohn didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 93rd minute, which inside left pole to 0-11. When the match was over Curhownagh could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Drink Team throughout the match.
