The referee ignored Doolin's protests and gave Gaynor Gollogley a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Doolin's Gaynor Gollogley got a free kick in the 18th minute. Dinny McLiam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerrigan Colwell in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute Cleary Myler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artuir Deans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ray booed when Doolin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaynor Gollogley didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Bowen Jameson put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Artuir Deans. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kerrigan Colwell in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dinny McLiam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ray's goalkeeper Dinny McLiam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 48 minutes into the match, Kerrigan Colwell notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ray's Dinny McLiam. Dinny McLiam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Kerrigan Colwell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Dinny McLiam when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 65 minutes, Eamonn Morrison mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Doolin and the Ray players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th match minute, Doolin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eamonn Morrison to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bowen Jameson in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artuir Deans saved Doolin from getting behind. Kerrigan Colwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinny McLiam having to interfere. After 86 minutes of play, Doolin's Kerrigan Colwell made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dinny McLiam was left in no man's land by his defense there! Doolin's Eamonn Morrison got his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute. The referee ordered Eamonn Morrison off the ground. In the 89th match minute, Doolin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eamonn Morrison to maneuver through the defense. Cianán McTom took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Artuir Deans.
