If Curran John had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boylan Barrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beehan Gillmour having to interfere. Beehan Gillmour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boylan Barrett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dolan Martyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinny Hutton having to interfere. Barnaby Silke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinny Hutton having to interfere. Ferdia Sheridan's late challenge caught a FC Suduva's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Boylan Barrett made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Curran John ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dinny Hutton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. FC Suduva's supporters rose to their feet, but Barnaby Silke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinny Hutton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Curran John received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Dinny Hutton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Barca Cork booed when FC Suduva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. FC Barca Cork's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barnaby Silke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0.
