In the 12th match minute, Blackpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donagh Hughes to maneuver through the defense. Baine McTommy received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tevis McCready came out and tried to block the shot, but Baine McTommy slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Beag McVictor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Healey McLian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baine McTommy struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Tevis McCready didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cloonakilleg. Aron Walker hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Donagh Hughes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cloonakilleg's Roy McPeter didn't even have to move. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baine McTommy made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Healey McLian got free with Roy McPeter in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 79 minutes into the match, Blackpool's goal looked a bit too open when Baine McTommy came free, but Tevis McCready reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Healey McLian struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Roy McPeter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blackpool. The audience thought a goal was coming when Healey McLian got free with Roy McPeter in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Cloonakilleg getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Kevinn McAaron hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Blackpool's Healey McLian dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. With a little luck, Cloonakilleg's Roy McPeter got control of the ball when Healey McLian tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baine McTommy in the 96th minute of play forced Blackpool's goalkeeper Tevis McCready to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Although Cloonakilleg had been in control for most of the match, Blackpool still came away with the win.
