Shankill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballyguin the free kick. After a rather tough play, Shankill's Trevor Crowe got a free kick in the 4th minute. A collision led to Shankill getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Rowley Frankson hit a great ball. Patton McWill took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Irwin McJohnny. Irwin McJohnny dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patton McWill in the 18th minute of play forced Shankill's goalkeeper Irwin McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trevor Crowe kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 38th match minute, Ballyguin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blathma Duggan to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Louie Morrison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saoirse McStephen to make the kick off. Wawrzyniec Tomiczek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irwin McJohnny having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Shankill's goal looked a bit too open when Patton McWill came free, but Irwin McJohnny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wawrzyniec Tomiczek struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Irwin McJohnny didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballyguin. In the 79th minute, Wawrzyniec Tomiczek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Irwin McJohnny was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 88 played minutes Shankill got a freekick which was hit by Louie Morrison. Reilley McLaughlin hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ballyguin fans cheered their team off the field, for while Shankill had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
