With a little luck, Calluragh's Boynton McVictor got control of the ball when Benedict Gough tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th match minute, Newtownbarry FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edwin Cassin to maneuver through the defense. Tierney McGlenn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brakawn Horgan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Calluragh defense, Raymond Keegan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Boynton McVictor. The Calluragh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Boynton McVictor should have stopped the shot. Boynton McVictor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyce Dalton, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Brakawn Horgan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Calluragh getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Bellaghy Deery hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bairne Hughes got free with Boynton McVictor in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Newtownbarry FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Saoirse McIan hit a great ball. Donell Frankson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tierney McGlenn. Newtownbarry FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Brakawn Horgan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Boyce Dalton was the one to do the kick off. Boynton McVictor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raymond Tierney in the 54th minute of the match. In the 57th minute of the match, Brakawn Horgan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tierney McGlenn was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 62 minutes into the match, Calluragh's goal looked a bit too open when Raymond Keegan came free, but Boynton McVictor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Raymond Keegan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saoirse McIan's late challenge caught a Calluragh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saoirse McIan helped the player get up and apologised. After 68 played minutes Newtownbarry FC got a freekick which was hit by Saoirse McIan. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
