Clúb Futbol Campilé's supporters rose to their feet, but Barnaby McAaron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donleavy Lester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Braon Caffey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donleavy Lester was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Killmacomma's Donleavy Lester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barnaby McAaron in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute Derin Tierney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bracken John saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giles Silke was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 46 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Clúb Futbol Campilé's Giles Silke got a free kick in the 47th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Clúb Futbol Campilé's zone, Troy Rutherford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bracken John came out of the goal and Troy Rutherford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Clúb Futbol Campilé were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jarlath Lester was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Clúb Futbol Campilé's Braon Caffey dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Donleavy Lester was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Braon Caffey showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 63 minute of play. Donleavy Lester made an important save on a dangerous shot by Braon Caffey in the 69th minute. Bracken John showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cashel Taylor, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute, Ron Hamilton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd match minute, Clúb Futbol Campilé was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braon Caffey to maneuver through the defense. Brede MaCollin hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. If Barnaby McAaron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Braon Caffey might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donleavy Lester. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Braon Caffey ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match was over Clúb Futbol Campilé could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Killmacomma throughout the match.
