Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Baine Moran started the match with the kick off. In the 7thth minute of the game Bairne Hughes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Benmore's Blathmac Ferguson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 9th minute Boyce Dalton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blathmac Ferguson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Banbhan McJon kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyce Dalton in the 12th minute of play forced Benmore's goalkeeper Blathmac Ferguson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blathmac Ferguson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bairne Hughes in the 13th minute of play. Blathmac Ferguson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boyce Dalton in the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Banbhan McJon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 19 played minutes Benmore got a freekick which was hit by Bil Ferguson. After 19 played minutes, Newtownbarry FC's Barclay McTom shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Blathmac Ferguson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Newtownbarry FC reached it. When Berke Glen Crowe fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Benmore's protests and gave Berke Glen Crowe a yellow card for diving instead. Berke Glen Crowe kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Benmore's goal looked a bit too open when Raymond Keegan came free, but Blathmac Ferguson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Blathmac Ferguson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bairne Hughes, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Darrin Perth hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the match, Benmore's goal looked a bit too open when Bairne Hughes came free, but Blathmac Ferguson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Newtownbarry FC booed when Benmore was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Banbhan McJon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blathmac Ferguson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bairne Hughes in the 32nd minute of play. Raymond Keegan took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Blathmac Ferguson. Blathmac Ferguson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Benmore's Baine Moran got a free kick in the 45th minute. After 49 played minutes Benmore got a freekick which was hit by Banbhan McJon.

Bil Ferguson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Tierney McGlenn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Benmore's goal looked a bit too open when Boyce Dalton came free, but Blathmac Ferguson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benmore's Blathmac Ferguson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Benmore from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bil Ferguson in the 66th minute of play forced Newtownbarry FC's goalkeeper Tierney McGlenn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barclay McTom in the 68th minute of play forced Benmore's goalkeeper Blathmac Ferguson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Keelin McCready received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Tierney McGlenn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raymond Keegan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Blathmac Ferguson came out and tried to block the shot, but Raymond Keegan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 72nd minute. If Keelin McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Raymond Keegan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newtownbarry FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Baine Moran's late challenge caught a Newtownbarry FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baine Moran helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyce Dalton in the 89th minute of play forced Benmore's goalkeeper Blathmac Ferguson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute of the match Raymond Tierney shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Blathmac Ferguson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Boyce Dalton struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Blathmac Ferguson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newtownbarry FC. Blathmac Ferguson came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Newtownbarry FC's Bairne Hughes. But to his dismay, Bairne Hughes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5.
