After some careless play in the Oswestry defense, Lucjan Kolano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miles Wicks. The Oswestry fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miles Wicks should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes into the game, Kristopher Fletcher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Raków Częstochowa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oswestry the free kick. The supporters of Oswestry booed when Raków Częstochowa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristopher Fletcher didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience held their breath when Sebastien Featherstone in the 29th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Bill Brimble's left hand side. Raków Częstochowa's Bill Brimble proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Raków Częstochowa from getting a goal against them. The Oswestry players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Raków Częstochowa were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damian Flintoff made a kick off. Stan Britton had several of the Oswestry's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 54 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Miles Wicks as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 63rd minute, Jim East got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute Damian Flintoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bill Brimble saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
