Walthamstow AFC's Calum Heywood got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Lewis Davison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Zak Bray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Buster Sawbridge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Buster Sawbridge in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zaq Stevens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bob Roberts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bob Roberts in the 27th minute of play forced Wem City's goalkeeper Owen Blythe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Calum Heywood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lewis Davison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zaq Stevens having to interfere. Bob Roberts was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Lewis Davison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Calum Heywood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calum Heywood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Blythe having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bob Roberts to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Bob Roberts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Owen Blythe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Calum Heywood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 64 played minutes Walthamstow AFC got a freekick which was hit by Russ Winehouse. In the 65th minute, Buster Sawbridge fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 70 played minutes, Wem City's Karl Cahill shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zaq Stevens came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wem City reached it. Owen Blythe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Roberts, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Sebastian Thomson's late challenge caught a Walthamstow AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Thomson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th match minute, Wem City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Thomson to maneuver through the defense. Owen Blythe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calum Heywood in the 83rd minute of the match. Carl Unsworth kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. With a little luck, Walthamstow AFC's Zaq Stevens got control of the ball when Buster Sawbridge tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute, Wem City's Lewis Davison ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zaq Stevens. Zaq Stevens yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Owen Blythe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Roberts in the 95th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Wem City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
