Charles Rhodes started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Frank Edmunds ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sly Little was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 13 minutes into the game, Gerry Ferrell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Destruction Zacsters's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Windlesham United the free kick. A collision led to FC Destruction Zacsters getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Gerry Ferrell hit a great ball. Frank Edmunds received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Sly Little tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norman Bryden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Charles Rhodes's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute Charles Rhodes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman Bryden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Charles Rhodes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Norman Bryden was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Edmunds in the 28th minute of play forced FC Destruction Zacsters's goalkeeper Sly Little to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sly Little made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Edmunds in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Trusswell got free with Norman Bryden in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Norman Bryden made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Trusswell in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the match, Windlesham United's Frank Edmunds sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sly Little narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Norman Bryden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Rhodes in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Frank Edmunds made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Windlesham United were awarded a corner. Malcolm Avery went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Malcolm Avery almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Destruction Zacsters's Sly Little did a great save. Norman Bryden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Trusswell in the 61st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Windlesham United defense, Fred Trusswell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norman Bryden. The Windlesham United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norman Bryden should have stopped the shot. In the 66th minute Charles Rhodes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman Bryden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Charles Rhodes fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Destruction Zacsters's protests and gave Charles Rhodes a yellow card for diving instead. Charles Rhodes kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, Windlesham United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andre Hornsby to maneuver through the defense. Windlesham United's Greg Waple got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Frank Edmunds's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sly Little was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. In the 79thth minute of the game Frank Edmunds who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Destruction Zacsters's Sly Little was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 80th minute, Charles Rhodes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sly Little showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Edmunds, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Windlesham United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
