Jordan Mahon started the match with the kick off. Louis Delaney scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lenny Acton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Halstead AFC's Dylan Shearer got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Halstead AFC's Louis Delaney got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Halstead AFC's Callum Pitt got control of the ball when Tristram Nevin tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Halstead AFC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Benjamin Gibbons hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Thornhill FC's Jordan Mahon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 27th minute, Dylan Shearer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Buster Froggatt fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Halstead AFC's protests and gave Buster Froggatt a yellow card for diving instead. Buster Froggatt kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Louis Delaney in the 39th minute of play forced Thornhill FC's goalkeeper Lenny Acton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Benjamin Gibbons hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute of the match Teddy Patten shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Callum Pitt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 45th match minute, Halstead AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Gibbons to maneuver through the defense. If Jordan Mahon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Louis Delaney made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Thornhill FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dylan Shearer came free, but Lenny Acton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jordan Mahon scored 2-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Callum Pitt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dylan Shearer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenny Acton having to interfere. Lenny Acton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dylan Shearer, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Callum Pitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tristram Nevin in the 63rd minute of the match. When Jeff Monkman came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Halstead AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeff Monkman couldn't finish the play. After 68 played minutes Halstead AFC got a freekick which was hit by Louis Delaney. Jordan Mahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Thornhill FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Max Barnes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dylan Shearer in the 80th minute of play forced Thornhill FC's goalkeeper Lenny Acton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lenny Acton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeff Monkman went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 90 minutes into the match, Tristram Nevin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Callum Pitt. Halstead AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tristram Nevin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Thornhill FC had played much better football throughout.
