Birstall Bombers's Timothy Attenborough proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Birstall Bombers from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the match, Gwyn Swift notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hendon's Leo Mahon. Leo Mahon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.
After 52 minutes, Gav Lineker made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Birstall Bombers's Timothy Attenborough tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marco D'Angelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74thth minute of the game Gav Lineker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birstall Bombers's Timothy Attenborough was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Birstall Bombers's goalkeeper Timothy Attenborough, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Timothy Attenborough was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 94th minute Marty Rowland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timothy Attenborough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Birstall Bombers's Timothy Attenborough played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gav Lineker in the 95th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Birstall Bombers's Sean Lovell got a free kick in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that Hendon were the better team. Hendon's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
