Crookes's Jake Joynes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gav Lineker in the 10th minute of play. Gav Lineker scored 2-0 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jake Joynes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Marco D'Angelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jake Joynes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gav Lineker, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute Marty Winterburn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Mahon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Ivor Pilgrim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hendon's Gav Lineker got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute Ivor Pilgrim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Mahon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, one of Hendon:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hendon. Hendon:s Leo Mahon showed great skill when he stopped Charles Atkins:s penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco D'Angelo in the 41st minute of play forced Crookes's goalkeeper Jake Joynes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gav Lineker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Joynes having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gav Lineker stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gav Lineker in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jake Joynes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jake Joynes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gav Lineker, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Jens-Erik Falkrantz struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Jake Joynes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hendon. In the 59thth minute of the game Gav Lineker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Crookes's Jake Joynes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute, Gav Lineker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jake Joynes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gav Lineker's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. The Hendon fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Hendon's Gav Lineker looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jake Joynes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gav Lineker in the 68th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Sven-Åke Snell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hendon's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Åke Snell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jake Joynes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gav Lineker in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jake Joynes saved Crookes from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Erik Falkrantz in the 73rd minute of play forced Crookes's goalkeeper Jake Joynes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Gav Lineker sped through Crookes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jake Joynes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Schreuder in the 88th minute of play forced Crookes's goalkeeper Jake Joynes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Gav Lineker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There was no doubt that Hendon were the better team. Hendon's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
