When Sol West came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the LIVERPOOL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sol West couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sol West in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Eadan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ty Wicks made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Christopher Pope sent off a good shot on target. Ty Wicks came out and tried to block the shot, but Jamie Blake slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 35th minute. LIVERPOOL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sol West was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ivan Coyle came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Whitworth fans jumped to their feet. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivor West during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Whitworth booed when LIVERPOOL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivor West didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Dominik Foley in the 68th minute really tested Ivan Eadan's skills. LIVERPOOL's Dominik Foley shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 87th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ivan Eadan but with some difficulty. After some careless play in the LIVERPOOL defense, Christopher Pope kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ty Wicks. The LIVERPOOL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ty Wicks should have stopped the shot. Ty Wicks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christopher Pope in the 92nd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the LIVERPOOL players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Whitworth.
