In the 19th minute Brad Sanderson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Mallon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Fitz Gray fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elland Road Faithful's protests and gave Fitz Gray a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Football Club Azkero booed when Elland Road Faithful was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fitz Gray didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute of the match Sol Bellamy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but William Mallon skillfully saved the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Football Club Azkero's goalkeeper Vernon Millman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bradley Dunn. Marek Godfrey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Vernon Millman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bradley Dunn in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vernon Millman saved Football Club Azkero from getting behind. Brad Sanderson might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over William Mallon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brad Sanderson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th minute, Elland Road Faithful's Fitz Gray ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vernon Millman. Vernon Millman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. If Marek Godfrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sam Beecham charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sam Beecham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Elland Road Faithful's Sam Beecham got a free kick in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brad Sanderson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Elland Road Faithful's Marek Godfrey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vernon Millman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elland Road Faithful's Bradley Dunn got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 55 played minutes Football Club Azkero got a freekick which was hit by Vince Couzens. Bradley Dunn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 61 minutes of play, Elland Road Faithful's Bradley Dunn made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vernon Millman was left in no man's land by his defense there! William Mallon made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Brad Sanderson sent off a good shot on target. Vernon Millman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marek Godfrey, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Football Club Azkero fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! The supporters of Elland Road Faithful booed when Football Club Azkero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Toovey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Blake's late challenge caught a Football Club Azkero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Blake helped the player get up and apologised. In the 98th match minute, Football Club Azkero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sol Bellamy to maneuver through the defense. Elland Road Faithful's Marek Godfrey got a good chance for a goal in the 100th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elland Road Faithful walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
