Spectators: 7291 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1741, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Wally Monk kicked off to start the match. Daryl Gilchrist kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Paul Woolford took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jude Whitworth. Jude Whitworth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Keiran Reeve charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Keiran Reeve the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th match minute, Denton United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keiran Reeve to maneuver through the defense. Riverside City FC's Sammy Brindley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Riverside City FC from getting a goal against them. 17 minutes into the match, Riverside City FC's goalkeeper Sammy Brindley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ralph Bowler. In the 18th minute, Christian Newell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Dane Teague managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denton United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dane Teague was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sammy Brindley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Keiran Reeve was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 21 minutes had been played. In the 21st minute, Keiran Reeve hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denton United FC's Jude Whitworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jermaine Titmus in the 22nd minute of play. Jude Whitworth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul Woolford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wally Monk in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jude Whitworth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 26 minutes Denton United FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Connor Linford who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Connor Linford got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jude Whitworth quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Paul Woolford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jude Whitworth came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Riverside City FC's Jermaine Titmus. But to his dismay, Jermaine Titmus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After having played for 40 minutes, Paul Woolford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Riverside City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paul Woolford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karl Church kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jermaine Titmus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jude Whitworth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd minute Wally Monk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jude Whitworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jude Whitworth was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Austen Croxford capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wally Monk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jude Whitworth having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Gareth Nailor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riverside City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gareth Nailor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jude Whitworth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Paul Woolford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wally Monk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Jude Whitworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Stuart Burrows got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Connor Linford got free with Jude Whitworth in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th match minute, Denton United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rex Tonkin to maneuver through the defense. Jude Whitworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wally Monk in the 93rd minute of play. Riverside City FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
