Rupert Barat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute Charlie Laverack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ollie Leyburn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Derek Tully was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Red Warriors F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hadleigh the free kick. After a rather tough play, Red Warriors F.C's Derek Tully got a free kick in the 11th minute. When Conan Delamore fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Red Warriors F.C's protests and gave Conan Delamore a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 minutes, Jude Macken mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hadleigh and the Red Warriors F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute, Jude Macken hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mick Ball sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Simon Buckler, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 23 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Leon Peake was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Rupert Barat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rupert Barat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mick Ball kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Red Warriors F.C's Conan Delamore got his second yellow card of the match in the 34th minute. The referee ordered Conan Delamore off the ground. After having played for 38 minutes, Rupert Barat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hadleigh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rupert Barat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mick Ball struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Leon Peake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red Warriors F.C. 44 minutes into the match, Red Warriors F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Conal Holdsworth came free, but Ollie Leyburn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mick Ball stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Hadleigh's zone, Mick Ball stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leon Peake came out of the goal and Mick Ball tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Red Warriors F.C's Simon Buckler got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 55 minutes, Conal Holdsworth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hadleigh and the Red Warriors F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Conal Holdsworth hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Charlie Laverack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Charlie Laverack got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 66 played minutes Rupert Barat could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-1 into the left cross. Charlie Laverack fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ollie Leyburn having to interfere. Ollie Leyburn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Barat in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Hadleigh's zone, Mick Ball stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leon Peake came out of the goal and Mick Ball tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Charlie Laverack could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Ollie Leyburn made a huge save. Red Warriors F.C's Ollie Leyburn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Red Warriors F.C from getting a goal against them. After having played for 83 minutes, Mick Ball managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Warriors F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mick Ball was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute, Red Warriors F.C's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Charlie Laverack fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience was convinced that Mick Ball's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leon Peake was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Hadleigh's Rupert Barat slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ollie Leyburn. That made the score 0-2 after 94 minutes of play. The Hadleigh players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
