Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Warren Bartram started the match with the kick off. Alfie Vaughan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rio Lynch, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the game, Bart Wiley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blueocean's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rainhill the free kick. After 4 played minutes Blueocean got a freekick which was hit by Bart Wiley. Alfie Vaughan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Warren Bartram, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Stephen Lovell charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stephen Lovell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Rainhill getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Stephen Lovell hit a great ball. Alfie Vaughan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Warren Bartram's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Mattias Simms kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Blueocean's Glenn Mayo got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Orson Ambrose took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marty Long. Rainhill's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alfie Vaughan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Warren Bartram, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, Blueocean's Orson Ambrose got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Glenn Mayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Marty Long tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mattias Simms charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mattias Simms the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Blueocean's Mattias Simms got a free kick in the 38th minute. A collision led to Rainhill getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Syd Bellamy hit a great ball. In the 40th minute of the match Glenn Mayo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marty Long skillfully saved the ball. When Rio Lynch came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Rainhill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rio Lynch couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Seth Fleetham stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Blueocean got a corner. Rainhill's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Glenn Mayo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rainhill's Warren Bartram got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Glenn Mayo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, Marty Long skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 65th minute Warren Bartram shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfie Vaughan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Warren Bartram scored 1-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfie Vaughan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 74 minutes into the match, Rainhill's goal looked a bit too open when Seth Fleetham came free, but Marty Long reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Seth Fleetham recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marty Long. Seth Fleetham showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 81 minutes into the match, Rainhill's goal looked a bit too open when Seth Fleetham came free, but Marty Long reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Blueocean's Seth Fleetham in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rainhill's goalie prevented a goal. Glenn Mayo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Marty Long when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Blueocean's Alfie Vaughan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Warren Bartram in the 94th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rio Lynch in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfie Vaughan saved Blueocean from getting behind. Rainhill's Marty Long played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Fleetham in the 98th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
