Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lance Pilkington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregory Hampton in the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th minute of the match Laurence Freeman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lance Pilkington showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Letchworth United's Lance Pilkington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lewis Beck in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Letchworth United's Andy Bullard got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Gregory Hampton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricky Hartley made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Shane Rockett sent off a good shot on target. Lewis Beck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Pilkington having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregory Hampton in the 48th minute of play forced Letchworth United's goalkeeper Lance Pilkington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lewis Beck to make the kick off. Franz Mortimer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lance Pilkington read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Lance Pilkington made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Gregory Hampton sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lewis Beck in the 70th minute of play forced Letchworth United's goalkeeper Lance Pilkington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brad Coulshaw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Ricky Hartley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shane Rockett in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricky Hartley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ricky Hartley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brad Coulshaw in the 80th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Letchworth United's zone, Lewis Beck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lance Pilkington came out of the goal and Lewis Beck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Seth Holdcroft hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. If Brad Coulshaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
