Spectators: 7495 (Terracing: 5622, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Johnathon Bramble kicked off to start the match. Knottingley's Henry Nethercoat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Knottingley from getting a goal against them. When the match had been going on for 11 minutes, Paignton City's Glyn Locke got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Henry Nethercoat. With his leg Henry Nethercoat managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Paignton City's Sol Stevens fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Michael Hylton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paignton City's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael Hylton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henry Nethercoat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Conal Whitworth came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Paignton City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conal Whitworth couldn't finish the play. Henry Nethercoat didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 22nd minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Knottingley's Frank Holbrook got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Michael Hylton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zachariasz Brodzki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Holbrook in the 30th minute of play. Johnathon Bramble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Knottingley's zone, Sol Stevens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henry Nethercoat came out of the goal and Sol Stevens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Knottingley's Henry Nethercoat got control of the ball when Sol Stevens tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Talbot charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ivan Talbot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 39th minute, Ivan Talbot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conal Whitworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Nethercoat having to interfere. Henry Nethercoat made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Sol Stevens sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Conal Whitworth might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henry Nethercoat. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conal Whitworth ran back to his position shaking his head. Sol Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henry Nethercoat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sol Stevens in the 55th minute of play. Henry Nethercoat didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Conal Whitworth went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. If Conal Whitworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the game, Conal Whitworth cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Henry Nethercoat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 70 played minutes Paignton City got a freekick which was hit by Conal Whitworth. After having played for 71 minutes, Johnathon Bramble managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knottingley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnathon Bramble was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Johnathon Bramble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Brian Wicks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute Johnathon Bramble shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zachariasz Brodzki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Knottingley's goal looked a bit too open when Sol Stevens came free, but Henry Nethercoat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Conal Whitworth kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnathon Bramble in the 80th minute of play forced Paignton City's goalkeeper Zachariasz Brodzki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Holbrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zachariasz Brodzki having to interfere. Ivan Talbot got his second yellow card in the match during the 90th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 91st minute, Ivan Talbot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Sol Stevens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paignton City's supporters rose to their feet, but Sol Stevens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henry Nethercoat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Paignton City had played much better football throughout.
