Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Danny Boulding kicked off to start the match. After 4 minutes, Tony Winterbine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tenbury Wells AFC and the Paignton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 4 played minutes Tenbury Wells AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tony Winterbine. If Sol Stevens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zachariasz Brodzki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danny Boulding, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Sol Stevenss short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Barney Rushmere to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sol Stevens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Barney Rushmere having to make a save. 30 minutes into the game, Walter Harrington was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tenbury Wells AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paignton City the free kick. Walter Harrington kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Paignton City's Glyn Locke couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 34th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tenbury Wells AFC. Paignton City's Sol Stevens got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barney Rushmere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conal Whitworth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paignton City's Zachariasz Brodzki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Boulding in the 44th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Sol Stevens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paignton City's supporters rose to their feet, but Sol Stevens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barney Rushmere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Conal Whitworth was the one to do the kick off. Sol Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55th play minutes Conal Whitworth shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Barney Rushmere and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 59th minute, Loyd Knight-Percival got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 60 minutes, Sol Stevens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paignton City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sol Stevens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Conal Whitworth might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Barney Rushmere. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conal Whitworth ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 73rd match minute, Tenbury Wells AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Harrington to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute Paignton City were awarded a corner. Glyn Locke went to the cornerflag to take it. Conal Whitworth hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, Sol Stevens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Loyd Knight-Percival had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 97 played minutes Tenbury Wells AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nicky Branston. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conal Whitworth in the 98th minute of play forced Tenbury Wells AFC's goalkeeper Barney Rushmere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
