The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karl Coyle was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and Johnathon Bramble capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Johnathon Bramble really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After having played for 12 minutes, Johnathon Bramble managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knottingley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnathon Bramble was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Frank Holbrook notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Niepokonani FC's Karl Coyle. Karl Coyle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karl Coyle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Johnathon Bramble showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 17 minute of play. If Casey Flintoff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Knottingley's Brett Windsor got a free kick in the 24th minute. When Andre Dunn came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Niepokonani FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andre Dunn couldn't finish the play. Casey Flintoff blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henry Nethercoat having to make a save. Frank Holbrook blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl Coyle having to make a save. After 41 played minutes Niepokonani FC got a freekick which was hit by James Mimms. Niepokonani FC's Karl Coyle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Niepokonani FC from getting a goal against them. In the 47th minute of the game, Brett Windsor landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Ron Miles was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 47 minutes had been played. A collision led to Niepokonani FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Ron Miles hit a great ball. 49 minutes into the match, Knottingley's Oscar Fitzgerald broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 54th minute, Marty Alsop made a precise shot to the right of Karl Coyle. Niepokonani FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. If Frank Holbrook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 played minutes Knottingley got a freekick which was hit by Carl Meade. Casey Flintoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Henry Nethercoat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivan Talbot hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Darren Crayon, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If James Mimms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Niepokonani FC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Holbrook came free, but Karl Coyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Niepokonani FC defense, Frank Holbrook kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl Coyle. The Niepokonani FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl Coyle should have stopped the shot. Frank Holbrook might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karl Coyle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Holbrook ran back to his position shaking his head.
