Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alec Scargill took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 2 minutes, Brandon Trunks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Welford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brandon Trunks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tom Prendergast received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Sol Mayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alec Scargill took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Scott Peyton. Scott Peyton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Scott Peyton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alec Scargill, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. A hard shot 21 in the game by Brandon Trunks from a close distance when the talented Sol Mayo managed to make a qualified save. KS Sheffield's players were relieved. 24 minutes into the game, Jeff Blackhurst was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Welford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KS Sheffield the free kick. Jeff Blackhurst hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Scott Peyton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bobby Rogers in the 25th minute of the match. Scott Peyton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alec Scargill's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. If Alec Scargill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When George Beard fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Welford's protests and gave George Beard a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Welford's George Beard got a free kick in the 34th minute. KS Sheffield's Bobby Rogers got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bobby Rogers in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Scott Peyton saved Welford from getting behind. In the 39th minute, Pedro Allanson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sol Mayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clive Bowden in the 45th minute of play. Brandon Trunks scored 1-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sol Mayo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tom Prendergast to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Brandon Trunks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 55th minute, Pedro Allanson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bobby Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brandon Trunks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brandon Trunks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sol Mayo having to interfere. When Rich Beadle fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Welford's protests and gave Rich Beadle a yellow card for diving instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
