Rick Ainsworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ralf Woodhall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lewis Picker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Woodhall having to interfere. Ian Houlahan charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ian Houlahan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Lewis Picker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralf Woodhall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lewis Picker, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Rick Ainsworth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ralf Woodhall having to make a save. If Lewis Picker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rick Ainsworth took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ralf Woodhall. Ralf Woodhall stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lewis Picker's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. A collision led to Riseley United getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Dean Rockett hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lewis Picker to strike the kick off in the second half. When Rick Ainsworth came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Riseley United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rick Ainsworth couldn't finish the play. Riseley United's Harvey Palmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryan Hurst in the 59th minute of play. After 62 played minutes Grangetown F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jack Willmott. 65 minutes into the game, Lewis Picker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ralf Woodhall was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hayden Way's late challenge caught a Riseley United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hayden Way helped the player get up and apologised. Hayden Way kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rick Ainsworth in the 74th minute of play forced Grangetown F.C.'s goalkeeper Ralf Woodhall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Riseley United's Lewis Picker dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. If Lewis Picker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Rick Ainsworth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Grangetown F.C.'s Ralf Woodhall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Grangetown F.C. from getting a goal against them. If Bryan Hurst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Riseley United played a much better game than Grangetown F.C. and deserved their victory. The Grangetown F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
