Paddy Allwright started the match with the kick off. If Al Machin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Adam Beasley in the 5th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Long Hanborough's Leo Welch got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jonathon Cole had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paddy Allwright might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stan Church. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paddy Allwright ran back to his position shaking his head. After 14 minutes, Leo Welch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Long Hanborough and the Manchester United FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Long Hanborough was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Welch to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Paddy Allwright got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stan Church stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paddy Allwright's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. The audience was convinced that Paddy Allwright's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stan Church was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Al Machin charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Al Machin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Al Machin. Stan Church showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paddy Allwright, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 43rd minute Paddy Allwright shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stan Church saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathon Cole sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adam Beasley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathon Cole recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paddy Allwright's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stan Church read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Manchester United FC's Stan Church proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United FC from getting a goal against them. Jonathon Cole came free with the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Stan Church could save by the left post. Jonathon Cole received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Stan Church tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Manchester United FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Al Machin hit a great ball. In the 77th minute, Al Machin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathon Cole fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Church having to interfere. Stan Church made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paddy Allwright in the 87th minute of play. A hard shot 88 in the game by Paddy Allwright from a close distance when the talented Stan Church managed to make a qualified save. Manchester United FC's players were relieved. In the 90th minute, Paddy Allwright fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Stan Church, passed just outside the right post. Pat Bradfield hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. If Paddy Allwright had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Long Hanborough's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
