South Benfleet FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Marty Sugden was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Austen Stone showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. When %teams%'s Austen Stone was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 2-0 just inside the left pole, 38 minutes into the game. Marty Sugden was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Alfred Hunt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matthew Mansell went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of South Benfleet FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wallasey City:s goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Damien Sawyer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Rupert Grayson fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wallasey City's protests and gave Rupert Grayson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of South Benfleet FC booed when Wallasey City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rupert Grayson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfred Hunt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leigh Venables, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute, Wallasey City's Jack Clare dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Alfred Hunt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damien Sawyer in the 94th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Wallasey City left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than South Benfleet FC.
