Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Al Ansell took the kick off in the first half of the match. Luke Bloom charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luke Bloom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 played minutes Sheffield FC got a freekick which was hit by Luke Bloom. In the 12th minute, Al Ansell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th match minute, Sheffield FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Tully to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Laindon FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ralph Rutherford hit a great ball. If Al Ansell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Morrell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle East, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute, Al Ansell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Sheffield FC's Al Ansell ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rufus Broadbent. Rufus Broadbent yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Al Ansell struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Rufus Broadbent didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sheffield FC. Luke Bloom got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 2-1 in the right cross in the 37th match minute before Rufus Broadbent had time to react. After a rather tough play, Sheffield FC's Carl Fitzgerald got a free kick in the 41st minute. Rufus Broadbent made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Al Ansell sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kyle East stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Al Ansell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rufus Broadbent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sheffield FC's Robert Morrell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Sheffield FC from getting a goal against them. Rufus Broadbent didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Al Ansell went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Al Ansell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Rufus Broadbent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sheffield FC's Al Ansell in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Laindon FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 70th minute Alf Chandler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Morrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Al Ansell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rufus Broadbent. Laindon FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Al Ansell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. 76 minutes into the match, Sheffield FC's Al Ansell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rufus Broadbent narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sheffield FC's Luke Bloom managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Mick Fletcher in the 77 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Al Ansell in the 78th minute of play forced Laindon FC's goalkeeper Rufus Broadbent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rufus Broadbent stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Al Ansell's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 89th minute Kyle East shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Morrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Laindon FC's Ralph Rutherford slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Robert Morrell. That made the score 4-4 after 90 minutes of play. 97 minutes into the match, Ralph Rutherford notched a goal, 4-5, to the right of Sheffield FC's Robert Morrell. Robert Morrell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Although Sheffield FC had been in control for most of the match, Laindon FC still came away with the win.
