Robert Morrell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Rush, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Al Ansell might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oliver Naisbitt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Al Ansell ran back to his position shaking his head. After 31 minutes of play, Norby City's Kristopher Wills made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. A collision led to Sheffield FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Luke Bloom hit a great ball. Robert Morrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matty Hogg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Steve Rush fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norby City's protests and gave Steve Rush a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Norby City getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Steve Rush hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Al Ansell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Sheffield FC's Robert Morrell got control of the ball when Matty Hogg tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 56 minutes of play Norby City's Donny Perryman was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
