An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennie Peakman in the 22nd minute of play forced Sheffield FC's goalkeeper Robert Morrell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Sheffield FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gregory Brook came free, but Robert Morrell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Shaun Sparks left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mason FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When Perry Barker came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Mason FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Perry Barker couldn't finish the play. After 41 minutes of play, Mason FC's Lennie Peakman made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Robert Morrell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Robert Morrell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shaun Sparks in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Robert Morrell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shaun Sparks went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 58th minute Gregory Brook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Morrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Perry Barker kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Robert Morrell. That made the score 0-7 in the 61 minute of play. Perry Barker came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Robert Morrell could save by the left post. Sheffield FC's Robert Morrell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Sheffield FC from getting a goal against them. Gregory Brook succeeded in the game's 69th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-8. After a rather tough play, Sheffield FC's Luke Bloom got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 80th minute, Perry Barker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pierce Meehan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Al Ansell in the 82nd minute of the match. Robert Morrell was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Gregory Brook capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gregory Brook really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9. If Al Ansell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierce Meehan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marty Shotton in the 91st minute of the match.
