The ball went over the crossbar instead. 29 minutes into the match, Laindon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gregory Brook came free, but Rufus Broadbent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Perry Barker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute, Gregory Brook got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rufus Broadbent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregory Brook, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Perry Barker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Rufus Broadbent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Perry Barker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laindon FC's Rufus Broadbent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perry Barker in the 65th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Gregory Brook ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rufus Broadbent was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Shaun Sparks charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shaun Sparks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mason FC's Gregory Brook got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rufus Broadbent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perry Barker, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Perry Barker put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rufus Broadbent.
