Shawn Bannister got in the 24th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Neil Banim handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC SAMBA's goalkeeper Kelvin Golding, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kelvin Golding stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tristan Walmsley's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. If Seth Stamer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joshua Pettifer to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joshua Pettifer in the 91st minute of play forced FC SAMBA's goalkeeper Kelvin Golding to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Seth Stamer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neil Banim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute, Den Bassett fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the final whistle sounded Newton Aycliffe AFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC SAMBA.
