Sidney Blackburn showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 43 minutes into the game, Vincent Spencer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Prescot FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Felixstowe the free kick. The supporters of Felixstowe booed when Prescot FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Spencer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Felixstowe's Zaq Soares broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sly Cookson to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Chaz Crossley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Felixstowe and the Prescot FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zaq Soares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dylan Button. Prescot FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Felixstowe's goalkeeper Frank Clark had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Neil Law. Fred Boxall kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Zaq Soares was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Dylan Button made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Blackburn in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Prescot FC's zone, Sly Cookson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dylan Button came out of the goal and Sly Cookson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 87 played minutes Prescot FC got a freekick which was hit by Fred Boxall. Dylan Button showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney Blackburn in the 89th minute of the match. Felixstowe's Frank Clark proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Felixstowe from getting a goal against them. Dylan Button made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Blackburn in the 94th minute of play. Prescot FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
