In the 5th minute, Garry Malpeli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 7 minutes in the game Toby Clayton did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Gwyn Dlyan. Garry Malpeli struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Piers Sansom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reject United FC. Reject United FC's Lenny Shaw quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jason McRobbie, made in the 16th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Thetford AFC's Sean Kalischer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Walter Bowen. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. Alexander Hinshelwood hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Garry Malpeli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piers Sansom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Thetford AFC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Toby Clayton hit a great ball. Garth Knightley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piers Sansom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garry Malpeli in the 40th minute of play. Rio Fawcett could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Walter Bowen made a huge save. Walter Bowen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rio Fawcett in the 49th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Garry Malpeli made a kick off. Garry Malpeli struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. The throw-in from Gavin Beardsley in the 62nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Reject United FC's Sean Kenna. After 63 played minutes Thetford AFC got a freekick which was hit by Lennie Seaman. The supporters of Thetford AFC booed when Reject United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garth Knightley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Garth Knightley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reject United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garth Knightley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Gavin Beardsley in the 75th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Reject United FC's Sean Kenna. After a defensive mix-up in Thetford AFC's zone, Lenny Shaw stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Piers Sansom came out of the goal and Lenny Shaw tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Garth Knightley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Reject United FC booed when Thetford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gwyn Dlyan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Reject United FC were awarded a corner. Sean Kenna went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Sean Kenna almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Thetford AFC's Piers Sansom did a great save. After having played for 90 minutes, Lenny Shaw managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reject United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenny Shaw was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Lenny Shaw came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Reject United FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenny Shaw couldn't finish the play. Sean Kenna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piers Sansom having to interfere.
