Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Alistair Reeve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Heskeyz booed when Rotherham United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierce Pyrah didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th match minute, Heskeyz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Beasley to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Rotherham United's Rio Ridsdale tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ged Castleton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seth Henderson in the 19th minute of the match. Lee Appleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the game, Sean Downes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Heskeyz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rotherham United the free kick. Sean Downes kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Lee Appleton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicholas Chamberlain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alistair Reeve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Chamberlain didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Heskeyz's Lee Appleton shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 41st minute, Glenn Morgan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Seth Henderson in the 43rd minute of play forced Heskeyz's goalkeeper Ged Castleton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rotherham United's zone, Lee Appleton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicholas Chamberlain came out of the goal and Lee Appleton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alistair Reeve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Seth Henderson to strike the kick off in the second half. Lee Appleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Chamberlain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lee Appleton in the 60th minute of the match. Alistair Reeve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicholas Chamberlain having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Rotherham United's goalkeeper Nicholas Chamberlain had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alistair Reeve. Nicholas Chamberlain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alistair Reeve in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Heskeyz's Lee Appleton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicholas Chamberlain. Nicholas Chamberlain yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Lee Appleton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Nicholas Chamberlain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rotherham United's Rio Ridsdale got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute, Lee Appleton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alistair Reeve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicholas Chamberlain having to interfere. The Rotherham United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Heskeyz were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
