After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Frank McCunnie managed to get in a good position for a shot. ESCOLI's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank McCunnie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shawn Callery breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tim Bonds hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The long shot by Danny Burkinshaw in the 7th minute really tested Shawn Callery's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Dale Downing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shawn Callery acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 14th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Eddie Elvins. Shawn Callery stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank McCunnie's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute Dale Downing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zaq Wittingham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Tim Bonds hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank McCunnie in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shawn Callery saved Totley City from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dale Downing in the 41st minute of play forced ESCOLI's goalkeeper Zaq Wittingham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Patrick Maxell fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ESCOLI's protests and gave Patrick Maxell a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes ESCOLI got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Maxell. Zaq Wittingham came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Totley City's Dom Perryman. But to his dismay, Dom Perryman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After 46 played minutes ESCOLI got a freekick which was hit by Frank McCunnie. Zaq Wittingham stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dale Downing's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. After the first half Totley City were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Frank McCunnie made the kick off in the second half. Zaq Wittingham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Downing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, ESCOLI's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dom Perryman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 56 played minutes ESCOLI got a freekick which was hit by Zak Worrall. The audience was convinced that Dale Downing's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zaq Wittingham was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. The supporters of ESCOLI booed when Totley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Bonds didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Frank McCunnie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patrick Sullivan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shawn Callery having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Totley City's zone, Frank McCunnie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shawn Callery came out of the goal and Frank McCunnie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frank McCunnie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shawn Callery having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Totley City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ESCOLI:s goal. Russ Portway charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Russ Portway the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. ESCOLI's Patrick Sullivan got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Totley City's zone, Frank McCunnie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shawn Callery came out of the goal and Frank McCunnie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Frank McCunnie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Totley City's Dale Downing sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zaq Wittingham narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 95 minutes into the game, Dale Downing was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Totley City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ESCOLI the free kick. In the 95th match minute, Totley City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dale Downing to maneuver through the defense. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
