Dennis Higginson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Southport AFC's Joel Fowler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Southport AFC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Southport AFC's Joel Fowler got control of the ball when Frazer Barat tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ed Sawbridge hit a great ball. Southport AFC's Joel Fowler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rufus Clarke in the 29th minute of play. Joel Fowler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rufus Clarke in the 31st minute of play. If Perry Gardiner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Seaton AFC's zone, Jasper Llyod stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Higginson came out of the goal and Jasper Llyod tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jamal Griffiths kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Joel Fowler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rufus Clarke in the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Abraham Rothery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis Higginson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Southport AFC. Dom Reynolds sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dom Reynolds recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Perry Gardiner took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dennis Higginson. Dennis Higginson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Dennis Higginson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brett Ainge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jasper Llyod struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Dennis Higginson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Southport AFC. When the match was over Southport AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Seaton AFC throughout the match.
