Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rhys Bridge started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Lloyd Beevers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of CJ Hancock. The goal made the score 1-0. When Lucas Meade fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dersingham AFC's protests and gave Lucas Meade a yellow card for diving instead. Leo Letheren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. CJ Hancock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, Terry Davies was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atherton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dersingham AFC the free kick. After 24 played minutes Atherton got a freekick which was hit by Terry Davies. Rhys Bridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Townsend having to interfere. 2-0 came through a penalty shot after 31 played minutes, when Dersingham AFC:s Stew Weedon calmly waited for Atherton:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. CJ Hancock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Letheren in the 34th minute of play. Danny Crouch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without CJ Hancock having to interfere. CJ Hancock had in the 48thth minute some difficulties stopping Stew Weedon's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leo Letheren was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Crouch in the 53rd minute of play forced Atherton's goalkeeper CJ Hancock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute of the match Stew Weedon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but CJ Hancock skillfully saved the ball. After 58 minutes, Rhys Bridge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atherton and the Dersingham AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rhys Bridge kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Atherton's CJ Hancock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Letheren in the 60th minute of play. When Dersingham AFC's Danny Crouch in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atherton's goalie prevented a goal. 63 minutes into the game, Leo Letheren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. CJ Hancock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. CJ Hancock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Crouch in the 68th minute of play. Danny Crouch hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. CJ Hancock didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Danny Crouch went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. During the 74th minute of the match Lucas Meade completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Lucas Meade a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Atherton booed when Dersingham AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Meade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jamie Upson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Dersingham AFC's Danny Crouch got a free kick in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Letheren in the 87th minute of play forced Atherton's goalkeeper CJ Hancock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Danny Crouch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dersingham AFC fully deserved thier win.
