Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rupert Marchant started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Terry Davies had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rhys Bridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jude Breeden having to interfere. Guy Huxtable recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jude Breeden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rhys Bridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rhys Bridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Cannock's Jude Breeden got control of the ball when Rhys Bridge tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rupert Marchant in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg CJ Hancock saved Atherton from getting behind. In the 29th minute, Guy Huxtable got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Miles Hamer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. CJ Hancock was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 35 minutes of play, Cannock's Rupert Marchant made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. CJ Hancock was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miles Hamer might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over CJ Hancock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miles Hamer ran back to his position shaking his head. 41 minutes into the match, Cannock's goal looked a bit too open when Terry Davies came free, but Jude Breeden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jamie Upson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Atherton players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cannock were winning 0-2.

Jude Breeden came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Atherton's Terry Davies. But to his dismay, Terry Davies quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. When Miles Hamer came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Cannock fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miles Hamer couldn't finish the play. Guy Huxtable sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rupert Marchant kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Atherton's goal looked a bit too open when Guy Huxtable came free, but CJ Hancock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cannock's zone, Rhys Bridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jude Breeden came out of the goal and Rhys Bridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Guy Huxtable had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miles Hamer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. CJ Hancock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Atherton's goalkeeper CJ Hancock, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 83rd match minute, Atherton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terry Davies to maneuver through the defense. Jude Breeden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terry Davies, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Guy Huxtable dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of CJ Hancock, 1-3. Miles Hamer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cannock had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
