Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ashley Harban started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Castleford getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Andy Francis hit a great ball. Pat Boyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Olly Burnett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hayden Pye-Finch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olly Burnett stood somewhat misplaced when Pat Boyd came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 9 minute. Pat Boyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Olly Burnett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andy Francis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olly Burnett having to make a save. After having played for 26 minutes, Ash Davey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castleford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ash Davey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Red Bull getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Kenny Dennison hit a great ball. Red Bull's Olly Burnett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Red Bull from getting a goal against them. After having played for 40 minutes, Hayden Pye-Finch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castleford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hayden Pye-Finch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pat Boyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pat Boyd to strike the kick off in the second half. Olly Burnett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hayden Pye-Finch, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute Hayden Pye-Finch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olly Burnett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Pat Boyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hayden Pye-Finch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hayden Pye-Finch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olly Burnett having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Red Bull's Dave Pool got a free kick in the 60th minute. Pat Boyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josh Millman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deon Harper having to interfere. After 71 played minutes Castleford got a freekick which was hit by Orson Stiles. In the 77th minute, Pat Boyd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Castleford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Pat Boyd sped through Red Bull's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olly Burnett. 88 minutes into the match, Red Bull's goal looked a bit too open when Pat Boyd came free, but Olly Burnett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hayden Pye-Finch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Olly Burnett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Castleford walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
