After 10 minutes of play, Oadby FC's Des Pope made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joshua Simpson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gordon Lawson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robbie Willoughby having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Nial Barrett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oadby FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Gordon Lawson struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Robbie Willoughby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Foxton FC. Foxton FC's Nicky Castleton got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fitz Pickering had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Foxton FC's Joshua Simpson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nial Barrett in the 25th minute of play. Joshua Simpson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nial Barrett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nial Barrett in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joshua Simpson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joshua Simpson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darius Broadhurst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 minutes of play, Oadby FC's Darius Broadhurst made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Des Pope in the 39th minute of play forced Foxton FC's goalkeeper Joshua Simpson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joshua Simpson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darius Broadhurst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicky Castleton got free with Robbie Willoughby in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 42 played minutes Oadby FC got a freekick which was hit by Travis Endean. Nial Barrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Des Pope fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Simpson having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicky Castleton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Des Pope in the 53rd minute of play forced Foxton FC's goalkeeper Joshua Simpson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 55 played minutes Oadby FC got a freekick which was hit by Nial Barrett. Joshua Simpson made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Nial Barrett sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Foxton FC's Joshua Simpson got control of the ball when Nial Barrett tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th minute of the match, Darius Broadhurst tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joshua Simpson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 68th minute, Pete Bird hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 70 minutes into the match, Nial Barrett had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joshua Simpson. Foxton FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nial Barrett was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Joshua Simpson came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Oadby FC's Des Pope. But to his dismay, Des Pope quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 83rd minute of the match, Darius Broadhurst tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joshua Simpson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Joshua Simpson was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Darius Broadhurst capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Darius Broadhurst really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. When the final whistle sounded Oadby FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Foxton FC.
