The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peter Gilchrist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jermaine Reynolds got free with Lance Robertson in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Doug Grainger took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rueben Willoughby. Rueben Willoughby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 89 minutes into the game, Peter Gilchrist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Rueben Willoughby was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the Alnwick Town players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
